Chemistry

Outline

The Department of Chemistry provides lectures in chemistry and cell biology for first-year medical and nursing students. The chemistry lectures are designed to present essential chemical knowledge in an accessible and easy-to-understand way, supporting students as they begin to study basic medical sciences. The department also contributes to general first-year education through courses such as the “Basic Skills Seminar (First-Year Tutorial).”
In terms of research, Dr. YAMAUCHI Akiyo is investigating the function of pancreatic beta cells in collaboration with other researchers at the university.
